We are posting the general plan for public review to encourage community engagement and transparency before beginning the CEQA* analysis and scoping process. This early access allows residents, local businesses, and community organizations to review, discuss, and share feedback on proposed land use, environmental goals, and development priorities. By gathering public input at this stage, we can identify potential environmental or social considerations that may influence the CEQA process, enhancing efficiency and ensuring the analysis reflects community priorities. Engaging with the plan now provides a valuable opportunity to help shape the future of our community collaboratively.
*Under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), general plans require a comprehensive analysis of environmental impacts, including greenhouse gas emissions, to align long-term community goals with sustainability and environmental justice. This proactive approach allows local governments to streamline project approvals, reduce emissions, and protect vulnerable communities.
